Chaos, Control, and the Long Fight for Change

CaliMoon

You guys… the way events have spiraled lately is beyond anything I could have imagined happening so quickly. Just when it felt like we were starting to manage the chaos—like the fires that ravaged parts of Los Angeles and left so much recovery work still to be done—boom, something else hits.

Before we even had a chance to catch our breath, the TikTok ban deadline arrived. And just like that, they ripped the app right out of our hands last night. It was horrific. I cried. I woke up in disbelief, thinking, “This can’t be real.” TikTok has been such a huge part of my life and of so many lives. And then, plot twist… a few hours into the day, around 10 AM, they gave it back.

What is even going on with the government? Why are we fixated on an app when there are far more pressing issues—like the fires, the immigration crisis, and the ongoing raids in Bakersfield, with more expected in cities like Chicago? Can we talk about that? Can we talk about how gun control remains a distant dream, while everything else burns—literally and figuratively?

And of course, Trump swoops in like some kind of almighty savior, taking credit for “saving” TikTok while ignoring everything else we’ve been demanding change for. The whole situation is just… dystopian. America feels like a never-ending rollercoaster, and honestly, I never thought it would spiral this far, this fast.

And honestly? I don’t have all the answers for how to process any of this—how to be a functional, civilized human in a society that feels so backward. But here’s what I do know: this battle we’re fighting is a long one. It may feel like we’re losing, but I believe in the grand scheme—we’re winning. Real change happens when people reach their breaking point, and maybe, just maybe, we’re heading there now.

History tells us that revolutions start when people have had enough. Look at the American Revolution—it wasn’t just about taxes; it was about being taken advantage of while getting nothing in return. Sound familiar? We’re not on the brink of collapse, but we’re certainly at a tipping point.

So keep fighting. Keep speaking up. Keep pushing for change—whether it’s protecting our children, demanding dignity and respect, or simply fighting for the right to live without fear and uncertainty. Even if change doesn’t happen in our lifetime, the choices we make today will ripple into the future.

Hang in there. Stay in the fight. We’re not done yet.
